Area Churches Combine for a Christmas Event

Local churches will join to present a living nativity, "The Way In A Manger" at Falcon Ridge Farm, December 16 and 17.
More than a dozen church congregations will participate in the event, which will be from 6:00-8:30 p.m. each night. The dress rehearsal on December 15 is open to the public as well. There is no charge to attend any of the performances.
The cast of dozens in traditional garb will bring alive the story of the first Christmas set in Bethlehem. The event organizers have asked for rinsed milk jugs, which will be used to help light the grounds. Jugs need to be taken to Dixie Hill Baptist Church.
“If you’ve ever been to a judgment house, we have kind of applied the theme to this,”  said Director Matt Boatwright. “We will have several scenes and about a four minute presentation at each scene.”
The name of the program comes from the Bible, said Boatwright.
“John 14:6 says Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life,” said Boatwright. “And the way God chose to present himself is through a baby in a manger.”
