TWRA to Fund Shooting Range

Hardeman County’s Lone Oaks Farm has announced the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) will donate $2.6 million for the first phase of a shooting range.
“The shooting range, like all of Lone Oaks, will be open for a fee to anyone who wants to practice or just have a good time shooting,” said Barry Sumners of the TWRA. “We have been told that phase one of the construction will create a shotgun range.”
Dr. Ben West of Lone Oaks says it will provide a unique opportunity for people in Hardeman County.
“There is one (a shooting range) in Fayette County and one in Madison, but they are small compared to what we are planning,” he said. “And very few in the state with trap, skeet, five-stand and traditional sporting clays, like we are going to build.”
