Meet Mr. Basketball

Middleton High School Basketball player Rodgerick “RJ” Robinson, Jr., was named the Class A Mr. Basketball on Sunday, giving Middleton their second ever Mr. Basketball award winner.

Robinson, who was also a finalist last season, outpaced Jason Britton of North Greene and Cadon Buckles of Hampton in the voting.

“Great accomplishment!” said Middleton Head Coach James Burkley. “I’m very proud of this young man. Seeing him mature over his four years at Middleton is a blessing. It is well deserved!”

Robinson joined Steve Hamer as the other winner from Middleton. Hamer won the award in 1992 in Middleton’s run that year to a state title.
