First place trophy in The Grand Valley Lakes Annual Boat Parade went to Jim Gehringer and crew aboard “Happy Birthday America”. Sixteen beautifully decorated boats from jet skis to pontoon boats and everywhere between entered the event. The theme for this year’s parade was “Aloha Grand Valley”. Gehringer’s boat was festooned with a combination of birthday cake, flags, Uncle Sam, lots of red, white, and blue all blended with a Hawaiian motif and Don Ho singing “Tiny Bubbles”.
