The National Rifle Association will hold a Hardeman County Friends of the NRA dinner event on Saturday, August 5, at 5:30 p.m. at the Hardeman County AgriBusiness Center.  There will be games, dinner, dessert, a live auction, and more. The cost is $30 for a single ticket, $60 for a couples ticket, and $240 for a table of 8. Commissioner Bethany Miller invites citizens of Hardeman County to a town hall meeting on Monday, August 7, at 6 p.m. at Carriage House Coffee, 107 W. The Hardeman County Arts Council will host Brian Lee Howell as Elvis and his 5 piece show band on August 12 at 7 p.m. Tickets (General Admission) are on sale for $15 online and $20 at the door. Purchase tickets online at www.hcactn.org.

Hardeman Adoptable Animals will hold a Dog Days of Summer Fundraiser on Saturday, August 12, from 4:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at 211 N. Washington St. Bolivar. The event will include a burger/hot dog bar, door prices, a silent auction, and entertainment. General admission tickets are $20 and $10 for eight years old and under.

The Crowder’s 50th Family Reunion will be held Sunday, August 6, at the Bolivar City Park from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. with activities for all ages and a special spotlight on the children of Margaret Crowder Newborn who began the Crowder Family Reunion on the first Sunday in August of 1972. Attending families are asked to prepare two dishes (enough to feed at least 20 people) and one dessert of choice. The meats for the occasion are chicken, fish, hot dogs, and burgers. Fish will be provided. If a family prefers not to prepare and bring any of the listed food items, they are asked to contribute $75 and adult individuals $35 to ensure there is enough food for everyone. Tennessee Farmers Cooperative is partnering with Tennessee 4-H in the 2023 4-H T-Shirt Design Contest which both showcases the talent of Tennessee 4-H’ers and raises funds for 4-H projects and programs. Eligibility for the contest is open to all current members of Tennessee 4-H, but participants under the age of 18 must have their designs submitted by a parent or guardian on their behalf. Each entrant is permitted to submit one original design which may not contain any copyrighted or trademarked material, except for the 4-H logo nor offensive or vulgar content.  Designs are to be submitted via email to chill@ourcoop.com no later than September 30. Winners will be announced on October 6, 2023, and the selected champion will receive an iPad and Apple Pencil valued at $600, in addition to five T-shirts featuring their winning design. The Hardeman County Arts Council will run DreamWorks Shrek The Musical JR. Friday and Saturday, September 8 and 9, 2023, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, September 10, 2023, at 2 p.m.

Bolivar Masonic Lodge #608 meets the first Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Grand Junction Community Walk every second Saturday of the month at the city park, if it rains it will be at the Old Cotton Gin.

Loaves and Fishes Food Bank needs all non-perishable food items. Call 609-2397 to drop off your donations. Canned fruit and protein items are most needed.
