BEA Community Calendar for the Week of 5/11/23

The Bolivar Hardeman County Library will host Spring into Reading Storytime May 18 at 10:30 a.m.

The Friends of the Bolivar Hardeman County Library  will host a 1920s themed escape room May 18-20. For more information contact the library at 731-658-3436.

West Memorial Baptist Church, 6230 Saulsbury Rd., will be celebrating Homecoming on Sunday, May 21, in the morning worship services which will begin at 10:30 a.m. with a song service featuring Living Truth Quartet from Gadsden, TN, followed by a sermon from former West Memorial pastor, Randy Latch. There will be potluck dinner on the grounds following the services.

Bolivar Hardeman County Library now hosts a monthly Adult Bunco group, as well as an Adult Bingo Group. This month, the Adult Bingo Group will meet Friday, May 26 at 10:30 a.m.

The Hardeman County Arts Council will host Magician and Illusionist Braden Foster May 13th, 2023, at 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale and can be purchased online at www.hcactn.org or at the door.

Decoration Day at Rainey Cemetery will be May  14. Contributions can be sent to Rainey Cemetery Club c/o Keith Foote Treasurer, 2220 Hwy 138, Toone, TN 38381.

Hebron Baptist Homecoming will be May 14 starting at 10:00 a.m. with singing and The Lovelace Family. There will be a meal after the service at 12:00 p.m.

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and Phi Beta Sigma, Inc. Fraternity Presents Mental Health Awareness on Saturday, May 20 from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at Old Wheelers Parking Lot. Decoration Day at Toone Cemetery will be on Sunday, May 21, at 2:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend. If you are unable, your contributions would be greatly appreciated. There will be a benefit for Polly Morris June 3 from 12:00-9:00 p.m. at Snow White Tavern. Boston Butts will be sold and plates will be sold as well. There will be a raffle and auction. Call 731-659-2665 for more information.

A Reunion of the Classes of Central High School from 1950-1959 will be held on June 10 at Simon’s in Bolivar from 1-4. This is the first time ever for a combined Alumni reunion. Marion Creekmore will be spokesperson.

The Middleton Civitan Club will have a BBQ Cookoff June 24 at the Middleton City Park. Call 731-661-1848 for more information.

GED classes are being offered weekly at the Grand Junction Public Library, located at 530 Madison Ave W in Grand Junction. It opens at noon Tuesday-Friday. For more information call 731-764-2716.

Bolivar Masonic Lodge #608 meets the first Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m.

Grand Junction Community Walk every second Saturday of the month at the city park, if it rains it will be at the Old Cotton Gin.

Loaves and Fishes Food Bank needs all non-perishable food items. Call 609-2397 to drop off your donations. Canned fruit and protein items are most needed.
