Lady Tigers Finish Season at State

The Middleton Lady Tiger Volleyball team saw their season end on Wednesday, as they lost two matches on the opening day of the TSSAA State Class A Volleyball championships in Murfreesboro.
In the opening match, the Lady Tigers fell to South Green in three sets, losing 25-13, 25-12, and 25-19.
“We were inconsistent,” said Coach Zeke Craft. “We needed to come out and have confidence. We played well at times, but the mistakes really hurt us.”
In the losers bracket contest, the Lady Tigers fell to Summertown by scores of 25-16 and 25-20 before winning two sets 25-16 and 25-18. The Lady Tigers fell 15-11 in the final set to end their season.
Craft, while not happy his team lost, had praise for his girls.
“We came a long way tonight. We started slow but we showed that we can play here at this level,” he said. “I’m proud of them.”
Middleton, who finished 28-13, graduates five seniors this season: Talandra Sain, Megan Leslie, Haley Downen, Kayleigh Lanier, and McKenzie McQueen.
