BMS football Tigers see first season play against Chester County

The Bolivar Middle School Tigers opened their 2014 season on Thursday, August 14 in Henderson against Chester County. “The junior varsity won 8-6 and the varsity lost 12-32,” said Coach Brian Mays, who believes the performance of both teams will improve as the season continues. The Tigers played a scrimmage against Hardin County a couple of weeks ago, which gave them a chance to see what to expect during competitive play. The game against Chester County was the real thing since it was a season game. “There was a bit of nervousness at the beginning, but overall, they play hard,” said Mays, who saw some areas where improvement can be made. “We need to work on ball security, because we had five turnovers. To view more please log in or subscribe to the digital edition.
