Positions eliminated, officials relieved of duties and more during Middleton special called meeting

An overflow crowd attended the special called meeting of the Middleton Board of Aldermen on Tuesday, October 28, as citizens saw numerous immediate changes.

The position of Parks Commissioner was eliminated, as was the position of Police and Fire Commissioner. City employees within these departments will now begin answering directly to the mayor and Board of Aldermen.

In addition, there were changes to the pay rate for the First Responders for each call and they will no longer be reimbursed for calls outside the city limits.
