FBC Bolivar revival brings big names

First Baptist Church Bolivar (FBC) began their annual revival Sunday morning, September 28, and have brought some big names in the Christian community back to their pulpit. Beginning Sunday and Monday with R.T. Kendall, 25 year pastor at Westminster Church in London, England and author of 50 books (including Total Forgiveness) and ending Tuesday and Wednesday with Bobby Welch, 30 year pastor of First Baptist Church Daytona Beach and SBC President for two terms, FBC Bolivar is certain there will be something for everyone.

"It's time for revival," said FBC Pastor John Jicka, as Sunday morning service began.

Kendall, returning for a second year to FBC's revival, brought a message of forgiveness and answered prayer.

"Are you ready for answered prayer," asked Kendall. "The truth is God is sovereign and He will do what He wants to do. You can go to him on bended knee, in fact that would be the best thing to do, and He might just answer."

Kendall, speaking from Acts 3:1-15 challenged the congregation to consider what happened is there has been a 'divorce' in Christian churches between the Word and the Spirit. He said true revival comes when the two come together.

"What is needed today if you want America to be shaken, if you want Bolivar to be shaken...it's the coming together of the Word and the Spirit," said Kendall.

Kendall also spoke to the congregation about the importance of forgiveness and how unforgiveness grieves the Holy Spirit.

Kendall will bring the message on Sunday night and Monday night of revival, prior to Welch taking the pulpit on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Bulletin-Times will have coverage of the revival in next week's edition and will have video clips of the services available online this week.
