FasTimes Opens in Whiteville

A ribbon cutting ceremony officially opened Whiteville’s first grocery store in years to the city.

Owned by Jimmy Vandergrift, the family owned franchise offers groceries, fresh meat, fresh produce, a full-service deli, indoor dining, as well as gasoline. FasTimes is the seventh in the family of stores that are located in West Tennessee, with a family tradition of serving the public in this manner dating back to the early 1900’s.

FasTimes was started in 1991 when Vandergrift and his wife Caren purchased the first FasTimes on Highway 14 from the Stafford family. “In 1995, we remodeled and added on to the existing store. Business was good and in 2000 I brought in my future partner, Ric Morris, to help me manage FasTimes #1,” said Vandergrift. Since then, Vandergrift has expanded to two stores in Brighton, two stores in Atoka, two in Covington, as well as FasTimes #7 in Whiteville.
