Cheer Camp Hosted in Bolivar

A Cheer Camp happened at the Army National Guard in Bolivar with fun and instruction for the girls and the parents. Russell Smith, the owner of Going Towards Perfection or GTP Cheer Xplosion, said that a high school coach gave him the idea to do a summer camp and he thought it would be a great idea. Based off that conversation, he expressed why he wanted to do the camp.
“The idea was to start the camps, work with the girls, and also create jobs, “ Smith said.
Speaking of creating jobs, Smith explained that he got some of the ones who were graduating from high school and created a summer job for them, so they could have extra money before they went to college. The girls he hired, Cayle Pinner and Lauren Palmer, were able to help instruct the girls with the cheers and dance routine. The camp also involved some fun activities for the girls.
“We did team building activities, jumps, stunts, tumbling, dance, and little bit of everything,” Smith explains.
