Bolivar General Hospital

Petition circulates to close Bolivar hospital

Chase Lawson, of Whiteville has started a petition on Change.org titled “Bill Haslam:Close Bolivar General Hospital” after a recent trip to the hospital with his daughter resulted in a four hour wait, only to have him leave without being seen.
The petition, which has been up about two weeks and has 140 of a goal of 200 signatures, states “The goal of this petition is to have Bolivar General Hospital in Bolivar closed. Patients  have to wait  hours and hours to be seen, even when there is no crowd. They mis-treat patients by sending them home and saying nothing is wrong. Just within the past month they have sent home three separate infants saying nothing was wrong only to find out they were later diagnosed with RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus). People in the area are differing to Jackson General Hospital to avoid mishaps. The community is tired of this establishment and its misconduct. It’s a waste of our tax dollars and if closed could possibly save a life in the future.”
