Warden Grady Perry

Perry returns ‘home’ as CCA’s new warden

e warden at Hardeman County Correctional Facility (HCCF), Grady Perry said he has a plan and a vision for the facility to be the best in the state and is thankful he is home.
“This is home to me,” Perry said.
Perry is a native Tennessean and is from Wayne County. He is a graduate of Wayne County High School and began his CCA career at South Central Correctional Facility in Clifton, TN. He previously served as Assistant Warden at Whiteville Correctional Facility and has returned to Hardeman County as the HCCF warden.
“I want this to be the best facility in the state of Tennessee. That’s a short term goal and the long term goal is for us to stay there. It’s not hard to get a prison running well, but keeping it running well is the challenge,” Perry said.
Perry said the staff members are key to obtaining the goal of the facility becoming the best in the state.
“The line staff are the most important people here. They’re more important to that plan than I am,” Perry said. “More times than not, the correctional officer, correctional sergeant, and captains make the decisions that save lives.”
He said there have been no large obstacles he has encountered in the two months as warden, but there are some small obstacles which are typical of most facilities and transitions he has experienced.
