Burvee youngest director at HCAC

When the cast of Cinderella took the stage at the Hardeman County Arts Council (HCAC) on Friday Night, September 25, they were making history by being under the helm of the youngest director in the history of the HCAC, 18 year old Brandon Burvee.
“Brandon has been active at the arts council for more than 10 years, first as an actor, then working on the technical end of things since he was 13,” Wanda Young, Director of Events, and current Vice President of the HCAC said. “Earlier this year, he made the comment that he would like to try his hand at directing a production, with help, and we decided to give him the chance. He had been an assistant director in an earlier production,” Young said.
Burvee began at the arts council more than 10 years ago as an actor in Fractured Fairy Tales, and appeared in several productions before beginning behind the scenes when he was 13.
“Now I can say that I have done all aspects of a show,” Burvee said.
He went on to say the experience has been quite an eye opener for him.
“Directing a production is a lot harder than I thought. You really need to have a lot of patience,” Burvee said.
