The Bolivar Central High School Marching Tigers completed band camp this past week and have begun preparing their football halftime show with an Old vs New theme. The band members had BCHS alumni from 2014 to assist in this year’s camp.

Alumni return to give back to band

“They did a lot for me while I was here so why not give back to them,” Jordon Watkins, 2014 BCHS graduate said, as he stood in the heat and sun during band camp with the 2015-2016 BCHS Marching Tigers.
Watkins, who now attends Tennessee Tech, was joined by 2014 classmates Dennis Parks, Alexyss Hicks and Megan Ervin, to assist Band Director Matt Boatwright in working with the band members during band camp this past week.
The range of combination from Watkins, who played Baritone, to Parks and Hicks on drums, and Ervin with the color guard, provided an even balance to assist in a variety of areas.
“I want them to learn the basics and fundamentals, good technique and self control and self discipline,” Ervin said.
